We DO things. We
have climbed mountains, explored the remote wilderness of Alaska, and done
things others only dream about. More than once we have
unfurled our Troop flag on the top of a mountain, and raised our hands in
celebration of our achievement. In 2005, and again in April of 2007 we camped out
along the Turnagain Arm, and then hiked into the high country, all the way to
the summit of Bird Ridge. We had a lot of fun, and pushed ourselves
mentally and physically, finding out in the process that our limitations were
not quite what we thought they were. Being "Physically
Strong" is important to any scout, and is even part of our Scout
Oath. In Troop 230, the words that we say and the life that we live
are one and the same. Enjoy the photos, and dream the dream of being a
T230 scout, climbing high and living the dream!

Venture
Crew 230 also attended this campout, and they rocketed up the mountain in less
than three hours. Our Crew President, Kyle, actually summated the mountain
twice in one day! YEAH! The venture guys had fun, reached the
peak and beyond, and traveled light and fast and slid home on their backs,
moving at the speed of heat and making it all look so easy for the rest of
us.
