Troop 230 |
The trip began in Colorado, where we were met by the Blue Sky Adventure team and boarded our bus for the grand adventure. We hit the Water World in Denver, then headed to Colorado Springs. Up early the next day, we drove to the top of Pike's Peak, a 14000 foot mountain where you could see forever. It was awesome! The temperatures were in the fifties, and for a few moments at least, we weren't burning up and it felt like home. The views were breathtaking, and at the summit we mounted our bicycles and rocketed off on a grand adventure that none of us will ever forget! After our bike trip, we stopped at the US Air Force Academy, and took a tour there that was very informative and fun too.
After our bike trek down from Pike's Peak, we
went underground, exploring the caverns of "Cave of the Winds," a fun filled
journey that was filled with tales from the past and some strange ghost stories
that had scouts and adults alike jumping at the shadows. We
also explored the Garden of
the Gods, where we ate dinner, watched some native American
dances, and then explored a really "kewl" rock formation. We also spent a full afternoon white water rafting down the Class IV waters of the Arkansas River. Wow....what an adventure!!!!!
