Troop 230
Eagle River,  Alaska 99577

Up ]

In August of 2008, while the older and more experienced scouts in the troop went to the Yukon and canoed 300 miles of that great river, the younger scouts didn't sit around at home.  Instead, they headed out down the Eagle River valley, to "Southfork" and explored the back of the valley that many Alaskans have never seen.   They got pounded by rain, and found out what it means to "Be Prepared" as the weather tested their spirits.  But in the end they prevailed, and had a good time, caught a few fish, and made the OUTING in SCOUTING real.

As on any adventure in T230, parents who are willing to take the time to run an event and make it happen are the key to what we do.   This willingness is what makes our troop so very special.
